When choosing a TV, the most important thing you need to pay attention to is that this TV fits your room. It shouldn’t be too big, otherwise, your eyes will get tired, but it also shouldn’t be too small, because you won’t feel comfortable looking at it.
When choosing a TV, you should pay attention to its dimensions, such as height, width, and thickness (depth). Of course, TV dimensions shouldn’t be the only factor to consider when choosing a TV, but once you’ve decided on the brand, screen type, and other parameters, it is the size of the TV you need to think about now.
What are the dimensions of a 65 inch TV?
There are three different dimensions to consider: width (length of TV), height (height of TV), and depth (thickness of TV). Also, remember that your TV can be stand-mounted or wall-mounted. If you want to use a stand, don’t forget to consider the size of the stand as well.
Also, modern TVs have tiny bezels. So, if earlier the size of the TV depended not only on the size of the screen but also on the size of the frame, then the size of modern TVs depends almost entirely on the size of the screen.
Now let’s look at the dimensions of an average 65-inch television in inches:
- The width of the 65-inch TV is 58 inches.
- The height of the 65-inch TV is about 34 inches without a stand and about 36 inches with a stand.
- The depth of a 65-inch TV is about 1.7 inches. It should also be taken into account that the support has its own depth. The average depth of a stand is about 11.6 inches.
Usually, the dimensions of an object are written as WxHxD, so for a 65 inch TV they would be as follows
58 x 34 x 1.7 without stand. And 58 x 36 x 13.3 with a stand.
- The width of the 65-inch TV is 147 cm.
- The height of a 65-inch TV is 86 cm without a stand and about 90 cm with a stand.
- The depth of a 65-inch TV is about 4.3 cm.
In W x H x D format, it looks like this.
147 x 86 x 4.3 with stand. And 147 x 90 x 33.8 without a stand.

TV measures 65 inches
To know the measurements of a 65-inch television, we must know the aspect ratio of the screen. Currently, the vast majority of televisions manufactured have an aspect ratio of 16:9. This means that if we divide the height of the screen by its width, the value obtained is equal to 16:9, that is, approximately 1.78.
The aspect ratio can be found in the characteristics of the TV. Today’s televisions with HD, Full HD, and Ultra HD (also known as UHD or 4K) resolutions generally have a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Older TVs with standard SD (Standard Definition) resolution have a 4:3 aspect ratio. However, this type of format has been abandoned to make way for high definition with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
The 65 inches refer to the length of the diagonal of the screen. If we express this length in centimeters it is equivalent to 165.1 cm.
Assuming the aspect ratio is 16:9, then the width of the screen is 143.9 cm and the height is 80.9 cm.
The image below shows the measurements for a 65-inch TV with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
A few years ago, before the introduction of high-definition screens (HD, Full HD, and Ultra HD), the most common televisions had an aspect ratio of 4:3. That is, the width was 1.33 times the height.
With this aspect ratio, a 65-inch television would be equivalent to 132.1 cm wide and 99.1 cm high as shown in the following image. Even so, today it is unusual to find this type of television with a high number of inches.
These measurements indicate the dimensions of the screen only. Keep in mind that the total size of the TV will be slightly larger due to the frame that supports the screen. In addition, the depth of the television must be taken into account, which may vary depending on the model.
