What we like about this antenna

  • The signal reception
  • The range
  • The ability to be put on the inside and outside of the house
  • The reflecting panels

Design and Features

Due to the cutting-edge patented technology, this antenna is able to receive free TV signals that are even 70+ miles away from it. As you can see, this is a long-range antenna that has a range of up to 70+ miles.

If you live in a rural or suburban area, this antenna will be perfect for you. Especially if you live in a house; since this is both an indoor and an outdoor antenna, you can place it in your yard, or in your attic.

Besides that, if your area still does not have that kind of good signal reception, you can always buy an amplifier and boost the reception of this antenna. Unfortunately, you would have to buy an amplifier separately.

This antenna works on both UHF and VHF frequencies. We have to admit that the reception is good for both of these signals. The beam angle on the horizontal plane is around 470 to 700 MHz. While, on the other hand, the maximum gain is around 12.25 dB.

This antenna is engineered to respond to a greater range of frequencies alongside a wider beam angle eliminating the need for rotation. As you can see, this is a multidirectional antenna, and the loop technology focuses on the antenna’s power in order to get a better signal.

This is a somewhat big antenna, it is around 28 inches wide, and 6.5 pounds heavy.

When you receive this antenna, the all-weather mounting hardware, the instructions, and the user manual will be there in the box with it. Of course, you will have to buy the coaxial cable separately so that you could connect the antenna to your TV.

The all-weather mounting hardware includes the base, adjustable clamp, and sealing pads.

Performance of the ‘ClearStream 4V Review’

Antennas Direct Clearstream 4V ReviewWe first must say that we did not see any channel that had a broken signal. All of the channels were crystal clear, and stable. Another great thing is that this antenna was able to provide us with free HD channels such as ABC, CBS, NBC, and many more international and local TV HD channels.

You already know that this is both an indoor and an outdoor antenna.

When it comes to the sound of the channels, well, we can say that the sound was really clear and loud. We could easily enjoy watching movies and we felt like we were in the cinema surrounded by a bunch of high-tech speakers.

The 1080p resolution picture was so clear that we could even see pores on the actor’s faces! We believe that people that own a 4K TV will have an even better experience with this antenna since it is 4K ready.

The testing of this Antennas’s Direct ‘ClearStream 4V’ antenna was done in Miami. Even though we live in a big town, our house is not that close to the broadcasting towers, so we have had some problems with our previous antennas and the reception. But, this multidirectional antenna did not cause us any issues and we did not even have to rotate it or anything; it was able to pick up on a signal right away!

Warranty

Every ClearStream 4V antenna buyer will receive a lifetime warranty on certain parts of this antenna.

The user manual and the installation process

The installation process is super similar to the installation process of the previous ClearStream antennas. That is why we will not explain it step by step. We will be leaving you a link though that will take you to the PDF format of this ClearStream 4V antenna user manual.

You should know that the installation process is very simple and it can be done in just a few minutes.

Our take and Thought – ClearStream 4V

Our ClearStream 4V review cannot be complete without our honest thoughts and our experience with this antenna. So, let’s talk about that for a while.

Why is ClearStream 4V antenna important and for who?

People that have been lacking a good signal and a crystal clear TV picture should consider this antenna as an important item in their household.

Namely, this antenna is able to provide you with a good, stable, strong signal. You do not have to live near a broadcasting tower in order to be able to enjoy a good quality resolution picture on your TV.

Why do you need this antenna and why should you buy it

We recommend buying this antenna because of its magnificent performance, and an even better price. The antenna cost around 110 dollars when we tested it, and we consider it as an affordable antenna.

If you have some kind of financial issue, then this antenna is right for you. It will be able to provide you with 50-60 channels, and some of them are free international HD channels. Yes, you have read that right, you can cancel your cable or your satellite and never pay any expensive cable bills ever again.

How we picked and tested the ClearStream 4V antenna

The testing was done in our small house in Miami. We own a house with a backyard. And, we have decided to only install this antenna on the outside and not on the inside of our home.

We opened the box and prepared all of the tools that are necessary for the outdoor installation. We installed it pretty fast, it only took us a couple of minutes, and it was not hard at all. Even a person without any kind of mounting experience can do it with ease.

After that, we went into the house to see whether or not we picked up some channels. The list of channels that we got was huge and pretty impressive. We received signals from around 60 channels, and 10 of whom were HD channels that we got for free!

We got to enjoy watching our favorite shows in excellent quality, and we love the things that this antenna was able to give us.

Sample buyer review…60 miles from the city and picking up major networks! I am about 60 miles north of Pittsburgh. Not in a valley, but not on a hill either, and surrounded by tall pine trees. I was ready to ditch Direct TV because we never watched it and were tired of paying for it. I was going to miss my local news though, so I did lots of research on antennas. At first, I thought it was hopeless for us due to living so far from the city. I talked to several people in my area who tried to use an antenna with no luck. I returned several before I tried this ClearStream 4V. This time, however, I did pair my antenna with an amplifier. Now I’m not sure if that actually made a difference, but I was finally picking up some channels so I didn’t want to mess with it anymore! I am getting 16 digital channels, which I know isn’t much compared to what most people are able to pick up, but given the fact that I live in the middle of nowhere (we don’t even have cell phone service at home), I am happy. I picked up CBS and PBS no problem but had to do some adjusting to finally get FOX and NBC. I had given up hope on getting FOX and NBC at first, but then my husband got a long pole and mounted the antenna on that. He also took some pieces off our Direct TV satellite, which was now junk, to be able to tilt and turn this antenna a little easier. Once he raised it another couple feet and tilted it back some, FOX came in great! This is mounted on our ranch home roof, and the additional pole is probably about 4ft high. If at first, you don’t get much – keep adjusting! Like I said – I had given up hope on FOX and NBC, but after an afternoon of modifications and lots of turning and scanning for channels and we are picking them up clearly now! I am using an amplifier and am not splitting the cable at all. I tried to use Direct TVs that previously run cables, but they were split in the basement where they then went to 3 different TVs. So instead I did run my own wiring, but it wasn’t difficult since Direct TV already had the proper holes in all the right places. We also used the Antenna direct app to help us know where to point the antenna, but honestly, I don’t think it helped much. For our final adjustment, we ditched it and pointed towards the direction we knew the city was and picked up all the networks we wanted.

Is there a better alternative?

Online tech stores can offer you a bunch of different kinds of antennas that are somewhat similar to this one. We have tried our best to find one that is as nearly as good as this 4V one, but, that costs a bit less money.

We have completed our task and found this 50-mile long-range Winegard antenna. This antenna costs around 60 dollars, which is around 40 bucks less than the ClearStream 4V one.

You must have in mind that this Winegard antenna is only an indoor antenna. You can see that this is an HD amplified TV antenna that is also 4K ready. You can follow the hyperlink to this antenna above.
